Support the first international TV documentary about the mineral waters of Romania

DEMO

This demo presents the story and artistic concept of the future documentary. The film will be produced in 2023, after we will have the financial support from our sponsor. So, there are no footage of the film, as we did not shoot it yet. This is why all images used in this demo are for presentation purposes only. Just as it will be in the final documentary, the voice over in this demo is in English and there are 2 examples of interviews, similar to the interviews we plan to have in the actual film, with Romanian scientists who will speak in English. Please take into account that this video demo and this web page is only for our sponsor! The whole presentation is private! Please, do not share it publicly!

BENEFITS FOR OUR SPONSOR

  • “Land of springs” will be the first international TV documentary about the mineral waters of Romania. The title of the film could be changed, according to our sponsor’s needs.

  • The film can become a marketing tool for promoting the mineral waters as Romania’s National Brand. In the same time, it will promote our sponsor’s products. The documentary will be much more complex and emotionally impactful than a classic TV or online commercial. Thus, our sponsor can convey the marketing message much more effectively and on an international scale, because the film will be produced in English.

  • The film may include interviews with specialists recommended by our sponsor: CEO, managers, employees and strategic partners. In the video demo above, there are two examples of what these interviews could look like in the film.

  • The film will contain the sponsor’s logo on both opening and closing credits.

  • We will have many product placement scenes in the film with the sponsor’s products.

  • Our sponsor could use the documentary in any marketing campaign. We know that the competition for the best water in the world is very intense and that is why we will produce the documentary in English. So, it will become a strong tool in promoting the Romanian mineral waters at an international level.

  • As it will be shoot in English, the documentary can be used as a communication tool in an international tour to present our sponsor’s products. Thus, if a marketing campaign is organized in the USA for example, our sponsor will have an artistic element that promotes the unique value of Romanian mineral waters.

THE PROJECT

Synopsis

Romania has the purest mineral waters in the world. The Carpathian Mountains are home to 40% of Europe’s mineral water supply. From Vatra Dornei to Amara and from Herculane to Borsa, we will discover Romania’s mineral springs and the people who will tell us the stories of these waters. The Carpathians have the largest virgin forests in Europe. They are home to bears, wolves and lynxes. There is no pesticide infiltration in these wild places and the waters are pure. This is why in Romania we can find the only water in the world without nitrates. A rare diamond of the mineral springs. Through its high quality, mineral waters could become the National Brand of Romania. A brand that could unite people for a common purpose.

Water Quality

Romania’s waters are unique and we wish to highlight these qualities in the film. As for mineral waters, Romania has both quality and quantity. Because it rains a lot. Another reason why there are many mineral waters in Romania is that there are extinct volcanoes in the Carpathian Mountains. They emit natural carbon dioxide, called “mophetic”. Such mineral waters do not exist in the US, but they exist in several places in Europe. In fact, Romania’s springs account for 40% of Europe’s total mineral water supply, but only 4% is exploited today. Currently, Romania has about 2500 mineral water springs, of which less than half are exploited. Production potential could double or triple if exports and the international promotion of Romania increased. The high quality of Romanian waters as well as the special mineral content, places Romania on the first place in the world. Mineral waters are a renewable advantage of the country. We can say with certainty that in Romania are the best mineral waters in the world! And many of them are in the “Dorne Country” (“Tara Dornelor”), a unique place at international level in terms of mineral springs. Romanian mineral waters are distinguished by the fact that they have a pleasant taste. When you drink this water, you don’t feel a medicinal taste. The springs in Romania are not too salty, bitter, rough, acidic or sulfurase and have an optimal content of salt, magnesium, calcium and potassium.

Zero Nitrates

The amount of nitrates in water is very important for human’s food and especially for children’s food. For example, baby food should be prepared with water that has less than 10 mg of nitrates per liter. The limit of nitrates for adults is 50 mg per liter. The European Union recognizes by law that nitrates from intensive agriculture are the most powerful source of water pollution. Western European countries have many nitrates in their water because they use a lot of pesticides. Worldwide, it is impossible to find a water without nitrates even in the Amazon jungle or Siberian forests, places that are very distant from civilization. However, Romania is the only place in the world that has a mineral water with zero milligrams of nitrates per liter. You could say it’s a blessed country! A world champion in the mineral water world. And yet, how is it possible that only in Romania we can find a mineral water without nitrates? The film will present three explenations:

  1. The extremely long circuit of rainwater, once it enters the underground. Any mineral water was initially a drop of rain that infiltrated into the ground. And the greater the distance traveled in the underground, the higher the quality of the water. In the case of the water without nitrates from Romania, the time spent in the underground is 40 years.

  2. The underground bacteria that feed on oxygen from nitrates. This process leaves only the nitrogen from the nitrates (the N from the NO3 – the chemichal formula for the nitrates).

  3. The wilderness of the country plays a crucial role. The Carpathian Mountains are a region with 70.000 square kilometers of protected forests. They have the most bears, wolves and lynx in Europe. Romania’s huge forests are far from farming with pesticides or fertilizers, there is no heavy industry, no polluting transport axes and no big cities. This way there are no pesticide infiltrations from chemical fertilizers.

National Brand

The Romanian people know that they have the best water in the world. So, the film could also promote the idea that the mineral water can become a National Brand of Romania, that will promote the whole country internationally, as each country has its own tradition in terms of its flagship products. It is a brand that once built, can last forever. And for this all water producers must unite to push this idea internationally for this common cause. Moreover, this National Brand can unite the Romanian people for a common purpose and it can also promote Romania’s tourism.

Copyright & Artistic Freedom

The director of the film will keep all the artistical author rights of this production. The film will be strictly the artistic creation of the film director and the entire team of artists from all departments, who must exercise their creativity in total freedom.

CALENDAR & MEDIA PLAN

Production and completion of the documentary will take around one year. From early spring 2023 untill spring 2024, as described below:

  • Signing of the sponsorship contract: November 2022 – January 2023

  • Preparation and filming: February – September 2023

  • First stage of post-production: April – July 2023

  • Main Post-production: July 2023 – March 2024

  • Official TV and Online release: Spring 2024

The documentary film "Land of springs" will have a duration of 52 minutes (so-called clasic „hour” for a television show) and will follow the classic circuit of a television documentary: After completion it will be launched simultaneously online (on our sponsor’s channels) and on TV (the Association Arta Banatica Cinematica and production company Western Transylvania Studios has an old tradition with TVR1 where it has already broadcast almost 10 documentaries in the last 8 years, so the film will be proposed for broadcast on the national television in Romania). At the same time, depending on the marketing campaign of our sponsor, the film can also be launched in a series of national and international avant-premieres at the cinema and within the events promoting our sponsor’s products.

PREMIUM DOCUMENTARY

The quality of the film will be at the level of the documentaries from Discovery, National Geographic or BBC. A possible example of a similar high standard premium documentary produced in Romania could be “Romania Neimmanzita” supported by Auchan as sponsor. In order to have that premium look, the film will be made in English, having behind it a team of internationally awarded professionals with over 15 years of experience in international documentaries. The director and producer of the film will be Sabin Dorohoi, a film maker with more than 60 awards and nominations world wide, who produced internationally awarded films and documentaries at film festivals around the world: Los Angeles, Cannes, Palm springs, Geneva, Montpellier, Capalbio, Reykjavik, Chicago, Geneva, Rome, Berlin, Paris, Vilnius, San Francisco, Regensburg or Mexico. He was the first and only Romanian director to screen footage of a film at the world’s most famous music competition: Eurovision Vienna 2015. Moreover, as „Land of Springs” will be a documentary about the best water in the world, we also want to film it with the best camera in the world. In order to keep the quality standard as high as possible, it is natural to use the most advanced technical equipment. A part of the international portfolio of the production company and the film director can be found on http://www.wtscinema.com/portfolio

BUDGET & METHODS OF FINANCING

The best water in the world deserves a premium documentary. As mentioned earlier, we want to have a look similar to the documentaries from BBC, Discovery or National Geographic and the documentary “Romania Neimblanzita” we mentioned previously is an example of a film about Romania, similar to the technical and artistic quality we want to have in “Land of springs”. The difference is that our film will be about Romania’s waters instead of Romania’s wild life. Although „Land of Springs” is a big project which needs a powerful partner, compared to „Romania Neimblanzita”, we can offer the same results with significantly reduced costs! According to Forbes Magazine the total bugdet of „Romania Neimblanzita” could be found here. As we have more than 15 years of experience in film and working with an award-winning team, we are confident that we can offer the same quality in a much lower budget!

The film is produced by the Association “Arta Banatica Cinematica” which is registred in the asociation’s entities / units in Romania (registrul entitatilor / unitatilor de cult din Romania), so our sponsor can deduct its entire investment in this project, redirecting the money that is anyway given to the Romanian state. All details about the budget, financing and sponsorship are extremely important, so they shall be discussed only in a direct meeting with our sponsor.
